ESIS are delighted to announced that in June 2010 our catering team achieved the Gold Standard in the 'Healthy Options Award'.  The aim of the award is to increase accessibility to tasty food, prepared in a healthy way using good hygiene practices.  The assessment criteria for the award mirrors the principles of the Food Standards Agency's Eatwell Plate and the 8 top tips on eating a balanced diet and maintaining a healthy weight. 

ESIS was inspected by the Food Standards Agency in November 2010 and was awarded the top rating of a level 5.  The food hygiene scheme is aimed at helping customers to choose where to eat out or shop for food by giving information about the hygenie standards.  The scheme is run by local authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland in partnership with the Food Standards Agency.  Each business is given a 'hygenie rating' when it is inspected by a food safety officer from the buisness's local authority.  The hygiene rating shows how closely the business is meeting the requirements of food hygenie law.  The ESIS rating can also be found on the Food Standards Agency website: www.food.gov.uk
